Andy Rubin: The Creator of Android to Release a High-end AI-Focused Smartphone
Andy Rubin, one of the co-founder of the Android operating system, is working on high-end device with incredible Artificial Intelligence.
As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Mark Bergen, the creator of Android is ready to announce a new company called Essentials.
It will be majorly focusing on making AI-centered products that includes smartphones and other smart devices. As per Bloomberg, the plan is to launch a premium smartphone with an edge-to-edge screen and set the price same as the iPhone 7.
The Former CEO of Android, Rubin is also trying to create a screen that can sense pressure, which is similar to Apple’s 3D technology.
It’s also expected to possess the ability to gain hardware features overtime, which could mean the smartphone might be closer to Motorola Moto Z to support modular add-ons.
The team said that, if everything works fine then we may have the first look of the smartphone in the mid of 2017. The team is also working on a 360-degree camera that will be attached via the connector enabling users to snap vivid 360-degree pics with the smartphone.
In new venture, Andy has managed to gather a strong team of 40 members – mostly made up from former Apple and Alphabet Inc.’s Google. The company was registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Google bought Android operating system in 2005. Andy Rubin spent eight years with the software giant and developing the world’s most popular mobile operating system.
The former Google engineer left the company in 2014 and after that he started Playground Global, a start-up focused on AI, robotics, and augmented reality.
