Skoda Kodiaq Scout 2017: Price Specification Design Details
Skoda Kodiaq Scout 2017: Finally SKODA will present a Scout variant of their popular Kodiaq SUV along with a new range of specification at the 87th Geneva Motor Show 2017 in March.
In terms of Skoda Kodiaq Scout design, on the face of it the Scout looks fairly similar to the standard Kodiaq with only the tinted windows and silver colour details emphasising the visual differences.
The bumper trim on the front bumper gives the SUV a much beefier stance while a similar stance on the rear bumper also acts as a skid plate.
The Scout has a 194mm ground clearance, ABS and optionally DCC shock absorbers which will allow the car to be a proper off-roader.
ASR, electronic differential lock, Hill-Hold Control and Hill-Descent Control functions are all off-road systems that can help you if the car gets stuck in any tricky spots.
In addition, to mark arrival of the new variant, Skoda has created a set of 19-inch alloy wheels specifically for the Scout.
The all-wheel-drive Scout will come with a choice of four engines – two petrol and two diesels:
- 4 TSI 150-PS 4×4, top speed 122 mph, 0-62 mph in 9.8 seconds, combined consumption 41.5 mpg, 153 g CO2/km
- 0 TSI 180-PS 4×4, top speed 128 mph, 0-62 mph in 8.0 seconds, combined consumption 38.7 mpg, 168 g CO2/km
- 0 TDI 150-PS 4×4, top speed 122 mph, 0-62 mph in 9.5 seconds, combined consumption 53.3 mpg, 139 g CO2/km
- 0 TDI 190-PS 4×4, top speed 130 mph, 0-62 mph in 8.9 seconds, combined consumption 49.6 mpg, 150 g CO2/km
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout is expected to be launched in India in the second half of 2017.
Skoda should most definitely bring in the Scout variant on the Kodiaq in India with its off-road ready styling to take on the likes of the larger and more aggressively designed SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour while the standard car can take on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan.
Prices for the Skoda Kodiaq Scout variant are expected to come in at north of the £21,495 standard Kodiaq model.
