Suburban Railway Project: PM Modi to Flag off Rail Infra Project
Suburban Railway Project will be announced today 24th Dec 2016 by PM Modi. It is expected that government will invest Rs 45000 crore in this project. BJP government sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the railways concerning.
Suburban Railway Project:
Railway project is expected to improve Suburban commute to a great extent. The announcement of this MoU will be done on visit of PM Modi to Mumbai on Saturday.
The MoU will call for in ratio 50:50. This is between the partnership of State Government and Railways. For Virar-Vasai Road-Panvel suburban corridor 11,000 Rs crore , elevated corridor between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST)-Panvel 14,500 Rs crore. And the Bandra -Virar elevated corridor 19,500 Rs crores.
This partnership is not only made for cost sharing. But from the partnership there will be better involvement for the faster completion of the project.
This is for the first time in country that this initiative is taken. However, State Government is signing MoU with railways and this step is very important to complete suburban railway projects.
So state government is very much interested to complete this project with full involvement and speedily.
However, the Railway Officials said that MoU of this nature is only called for division of Work portfolio between the employees of the state and the railways. This will make each individual organisation responsible and they are not in need to wait for approval of any party.
However the PM will lay the foundation of three major projects of MUTP III – Virar-Dahanu Road quadrupling, Airoli-Kalwa elevated link and new Panvel-Karjat suburban corridor – on Saturday.
Thus the total cost of all projects is to be announced on Saturday. And it will be for the development of suburban railway projects in Mumbai is Rs 45,000 crore.
So this step of our PM Modi is very important for the development of the Indian Railway. This will be very important step for the Mumbai.
