World Super Series Badminton Final: PV Sindhu is the Olympic silver medalist. She made her winning start at a prestigious BWF World Super Series Final. By defeating higher ranked Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in an entertaining opening women’s singles Group B match on Wednesday.
Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win the Olympic silver Medal. She has been awarded with Olympic silver medalist in badminton in month of August. But she also qualified for the Dubai World Super Series final.
She was placed at at 16th in the Destination Dubai Rankings with just two events — China Open and Hong Kong Open – remaining.

However, PV Sindhu became the third Indian to win the China Open, her maiden Super Series Premier title last month and then reaching the finals at Hong Kong where she lost to Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying.
After getting victory in china she earned 11000 points. And the final finish at Hong Kong had earned her maiden ticket to Dubai.
She get this by surpassing the likes of compatriot Saina Nehwal, Japan’s Sayaka Sato and Minatsu Mitani, and Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk.
So in world No 10 Sindhu has defeated eighth ranked Yamaguchi, having beaten her at Uber Cup this year and at the 2015 Macau Open. The only time the Indian had lost to the Japanese was during the 2013 Japan Open.
Sindhu has a 3-5 record against Marin. In the last meeting being the Rio Olympics final. And the Indian has a 3-3 head-to-head record against Sun.
And the new World No 1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, South Korea’s Sung Ji-hyun, Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and China’s He Bingjiao will compete for the semifinal spot in Group A.
So PV Sindhu will be the badminton star of India in some coming years. She got success on Olympics. She also faced many problems in her life and in also her field.
