Xiaomi Launches Mi VR Play Headset at Just Rs.999 in India
Yesterday, Xiaomi launched its Mi VR play headset in India at just Rs.999. Earlier, Xiaomi launched its VR play headsets in China. However, the Mi VR headset is already out of stock on the company’s website.
Mi VR Play headset is the first VR headset by the company and it will go on sale from 21st December, 2016. This VR Play headset is Google Cardboard compatible and it will provide an immersive experience to the people wearing it.
An interesting thing about it is that the Mi VR play headset will incorporate a unique two-way zipper design with the entire thing made out of lightweight Lycra.
Xiaomi has included Anti-reflective lenses to it to ensure that the Mi VR Play headset provides clear images through aspherical lenses.
Also the headset comes along with a metal button for interaction. The headset will support the smartphones ranging from 4.7-inch to 5.7-inches.
Xiaomi said that, “Mi VR Play headset is the easiest way to experience immersive theatre or cinema experience with compatible smartphones and headphones.”
The company also said that, Mi VR Play app is Google Cardboard compatible and gives users access to the library of videos and apps on Google Play as well. The Google Cardboard app is also compatible with this VR play headset.
The Xiaomi Mi VR Play headset can be used to watch any Virtual Reality content along with 360-degree videos on YouTube, Facebook and any other platforms.
The company is known for launching more than just smartphones in China. Xiaomi is slowly expanding its range of products in India. The company has launched two new successors to the popular Redmi 3 smartphone line up – Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.
